Bucket List Estate Planning

Hiller Law is seriously expanding its practice into "Life & Legacy Planning".

There are two things certain in life: we're all born, and we all die. The rest is a mystery. What we know is that facing death with our eyes wide open will lead us to our best lives — to be the best parents, business owners, and humans possible — regardless of when death comes for us.

It's what Life and Legacy Planning is all about. We support you in looking at everything you have and everyone you love as if you were going to die tomorrow so you can get clear on what you need to have in place to keep your loved ones out of court, out of conflict, and from being left with a big mess. As a result, you make the best choices for your resources throughout every stage of life.

At the same time, Hiller Law offers a unique brand of Life and Legacy Planning: Bucket List Estate Planning.

It's unique for two reasons: 1. We searched the web and can't find another lawyer using the bucket list concept with estate planning. 2. Our bucket listing process does not only mean doing extreme sports. We actually have given it a name, and it's called Mirror Respect™ Bucket Listing. The mirror respect™ concept requires you to think of others when you're creating your bucket list. Your estate planning is not really done for you anyway, it's done for those you love the most. It's the same thing with our version of bucket listing. if you're 25', it's really up to you if you want to do hang gliding or jump out of an airplane once a week.

On the other hand if you're 25, 35 or 45, and you have a partner or children, you should think at least three times before doing anything too risky.

That's how we combine estate planning - Life & Legacy Planning - with Bucket Listing.

Most of you know that the bucket list concept comes from knowing that "Kicking the Bucket", or dying, is coming soon – it was made popular by the movie The Bucket List. But that movie is about two older persons who know they're dying soon and so they decide to live their lives as if there is not much left. That is a form of "bucket listing", but it's not the only form. We think that our Bucket Listing works well with Life & Legacy Planning because before you plunge into doing crazy things, we want to think about those you love the most.

Remember, even though none of us know when we're going to die, most of the time we are not on our deathbed, and we want to be around as long as possible for our loved ones.  Whenever possible we want to live life to the fullest, but you should consider others before you take too much risk when carrying out your "bucket list" (Bucket Listing). We want you to use Mirror Respect™ Bucket Listing.

Of course, the choice is yours, but like all our advice, we want to give you the best advice for you and your family. The choice is still yours. You choose whether it's your estate plan or your bucket list.
